JAMES ALEXANDER (ALEX) STOW On Wednesday, March 20, 2019 with family at his side, our father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully at the age of 90. He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Pam. The love of his life, Pam, received a special birthday gift this year as his passing came two days after her birthday. He is survived by his five children: Chris, Mary (Scott), Lisa (Roger), Janet (Gord) and Paul (Marcia). He also leaves to mourn 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild as well as many dear friends. Alex's working life has always revolved around agriculture starting at a young age working on the farm. Diversifying into seed production he created Stow Seed Processors. He became President of the Canadian Seed Growers Association. This eventually led to him being inducted into the Manitoba Agricultural Hall of Fame as well as receiving the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal. Special thank you to all the staff at the Boyne Lodge for all of the care and compassion he received over the past six years. A Come and Go Celebration of Life will be held on April 1 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Active Living Centre in Carman. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Boyne Lodge in Carman or the Carman Area Foundation. He will be greatly missed. Doyle's Funeral Home in care of arrangements.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Alex and Pam were good friends of my parents. The couple travelled together and enjoyed each others company. Alex was a special man who had a great sense of humour. The Stow family was/is an important part of the Carman and area social and business community. Thanks for your contributions Alex! - Posted by: Eric Jensen (Friend of the Family) on: Mar 28, 2019
