LEO JOSEPH KELSCH
Left to mourn his passing are his children, Dan and Kathy; sisters, Frances, Angela (Chip), and Joan; brother Albert (Léonne); sister-in-law May; grandchildren, Tyler
(Emilia), Travis, and Taylor; his beloved great-grandchildren, Leo and Cecelia, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Leo was predeceased by his wife Margaret.
Dad was a self-made man, running Leo Kelsch Sales Agency for over 50 years. He was well respected by many in the fashion
industry. He was also very active in the church and Knights of Columbus, serving as Grand Knight twice. He was passionate about sports. An avid curler, he represented
Manitoba at the 1961 McDonald Brier. He loved travelling with Margaret, taking many holidays. His greatest joy came from the time spent at the family cottage on Zig Zag Island. Many lasting memories and friendships were made there.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the St. Boniface ICU for the care and compassion given to dad while in their care.
In keeping with Leo's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Funeral Mass
celebrating his life will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the St.
Bernadette Roman Catholic Church, 820
Cottonwood Road.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire,
donations in memory of Leo may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.

Hi Dan, I just came across your name, and was actually looking for your phone number just to say hello, when I came across the announcement of your Dad's passing. I am so sorry to hear this news. And wanted you to know how highly I thought of your parents and dad in particular. I hope that you are doing well and know that this loss must have been hard for you knowing how close the two of you were. If ever you would like to reach out to me, please do not be a stranger, Brian van Frank, 514-241-6258 - Posted by: Brian van Frank (Friend) on: Aug 22, 2019

Leo was a true gentleman. He and my folks spent many great times together both down at Clearwater Bay and in Winnipeg. In my mind he set a great standard for how one can live a full and compassionate life. Sympathies to Dan and Kathy. - Posted by: John MacLaren (Son of good friends Bob and Chaddie MacLaren) on: Jun 24, 2019

The family of Tillie Heather, who was a cousin to Leo, would like to send our condolences to Leo's family. I recall seeing Leo and Margaret at many Kelsch and Herner gatherings and he was such a warm and gracious man. May the thought of Leo being reunited with Margaret bring the family much comfort. May he rest in peace. God Bless his family. - Posted by: Sharon McGavock (Second cousin) on: May 14, 2019

I first met Leo in 1978 when I started out in the business and became close friends to Leo & Margaret. Both such wonderful and generous people. They were so kind and helpful when I first moved to Winnipeg. Had wonderful times at Leo’s summer home, many laughs and much scotch. Wonderful memories! I’m very thankful for Dan & Kathy contacting me today. I was happy to hear that Leo did not suffer and went peacefully to has loving wife. - Posted by: Jeannette Roy (Friend) on: May 11, 2019
