GUY TETRAULT
Guy was born in 1944 to Marie-Paule (Trudel) and Arthur Tetrault. The first of nine children, he was raised in the small French town of St. Malo, Manitoba. While it is hard to imagine growing up with three brothers and five sisters, it is harder still to fathom how close they remain to this day - best friends as much as family. Guy met the love of his life in 1964 - a cute brunette girl with a wide grin from the neighbouring town of St-Pierre-Jolys. Guy and Madeline (Gautron) were married in 1967, and created a loving home for their two children, Paul (Andrea) and Carol Honeybun. Although the family lived in Winnipeg, they enjoyed plenty of time in St. Malo and St. Pierre with their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and an army of cousins.
Guy spent 40 years at Cargill Grain, retiring after many years as manager of the accounting department. Patient and hard-working, he earned the respect and friendship of everyone who worked with him. As much as he loved his work, his true love was spending time with his family - enjoying stories and laughter around the fire at the family camp on the banks of the Rat River. His four grandchildren, Julien, Rémy, Emma and Kyle were a constant source of pride and joy. His legacy is evident in their kind, gentle spirits, quick wit, and love of a good steak dinner. Madeline, his wife of 52 years, was his partner, champion, and guardian angel - never leaving his side to the end. Guy joins his predeceased loved ones in heaven for what will surely be an epic game of Dame de Piques.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, June 27 at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Road in Winnipeg. There will be a short eulogy at 10:45 a.m. and Mass will commence at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to St. Boniface Hospital Foundation in support of cardiac care.

Seems us kids that grew up together are now experiencing the hardest lesson in life, the loss of a parent. We are left behind with memories of our Dads or Moms, and a void, but it’s comforting to hear from a childhood friend a memory they have from the past. Growing up on Howden we always knew who we could run to when we needed help, your home was of those homes. I can still see Guy outside mowing the lawn. He’d wave over. My dad and Guy would chat. Neighbors did that back then. I remember the year we celebrated Guy’s birthday and my Dad’s birthday together. Oh the silly cake they had. (I have some pictures Carol if you ever want copies). I am so sorry for your loss, the world lost another great man. A man’s worth isn’t measured by the dash between the years he lived, its measured by how he spent his dash. Guy’s dash was well spent. - Posted by: Robyn Kaskow (Former neighbor ) on: Jun 25, 2019
