MARIANNA (MARION) ANGELINA TESSER
May 29, 1937 - July 9, 2019

It is with an abundance of love and sadness that we announce the very peaceful passing of Marianna (Marion) Angelina Tesser (nee LaRosa), affectionately known as "The Marion" at The Waverley Assisted Living Facility, on July 9, 2019.
Marion was predeceased by her husband of over 40 years, Domenico (Nino) Antonio Dimitri Tesser in 2006. Marion is predeceased by two brothers and is survived by her brother Michael LaRosa and his wife Lillian. She is survived by her three children, son Dean, his wife Sisi and grandchildren, Luke and Angelina residing in Mississauga; her daughter Linda, her partner Darren, residing in Victoria and granddaughter Melissa and husband Luke, residing in Dawson Creek; and her son Michael, his partner Melanie, her granddaughter Emerson, residing in Winnipeg.
Marion attended St. John's High School in Winnipeg and took several secretarial courses as well as the Real Estate Course and worked with her husband Nino for several years before securing a position with Canada Employment Agency. She was a dedicated employee of the Federal Government and assisted several thousand people in securing employment as well as assisting in the preparation of their resumes.
The Marion was "the classiest woman we have ever met" according to many people and also the kindest, yet most passionate woman most had the pleasure of spending time with.
She was the glue that kept her family together and always put others before herself. She was an amazing cook and you would have never left her home with an empty stomach. She gave of herself through several volunteer roles throughout her life, including working at the jewellery counter at Evergreen Basic Needs Centre in Gimli. Marion loved to sing, dance and perform and could play a mean "boogie woogie" on the piano. She exemplified love to everyone she met. She has left an indelible impression on all who she encountered, from all walks of life.
The family wishes to extend their most sincere thanks to the many dedicated staff at The Waverley Assisted Living Facility as well as the many friends and family who have visited her, phoned her and spend time with her while going through the transition from her little quaint home in Gimli.
Marion - nothing can express the sadness of your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, your brother and friends. We love you with every ounce of our being and will meet you one day again. In your words, we will have a lot of F U N.
Viewing will take place on Monday, July 15, 2019 between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue at Sharp Boulevard. Condolences will be said on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Avenue. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding. A reception will follow in the lower parish hall at 12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marion's name to Gimli Community Health Centre or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Our deepest condolences to all of those who loved Marion. I will always remember the time she spent with me as a child at Lester Beach. Having lunches on the picnic table and assisting her in painting the rocks for the drive way. In later years my parents were fortunate enough to spend some winters with Marion and Nino in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. She was a lovely human being. Shannon and the whole Mulvenny family. - Posted by: Shannon Govereau (Friend) on: Jan 17, 2021

  • My heart goes out to Marion's family. She was such a precious, dynamic lady who I met at Evergreen Basic Needs. She had so much class and shine, the jewellery counter was never the same after she left. I had the pleasure of visiting with her at home in Gimli and I treasure that time. I'm sure you will all feel a big hole in your hearts. - Posted by: Sis Thomas Moore (fFriend) on: Jul 18, 2019
