TILLIE (SYLVIA) LENA PROCYK
December 1940 - July 2019
Tillie was predeceased by her parents, Steven and Anne Procyk, brother Stanley Procyk, sister Julia Thorvaldson, niece Kim Piatt and nephew Jason Thorvaldson.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sister Emily Piatt, brother Irvin Procyk (Mady), cousin Evelyn Hadinger, sister-in-law Annette Procyk, ex-brother-in-law and friend Herman Thorvaldson, along with several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tillie was born in Montmarte, SK and spent her younger years in and around that area. At the age of 18, she moved to Regina where she completed her grade 12 education - after which worked as a nurse's aide at the Grey Nun's hospital. In 1961, Tillie moved to Winnipeg and had a varied career as a hair stylist and then the manager of 'The House of Plastics' craft store before becoming a certified Travel Consultant - employed by Marlin Travel (Kildonan Place) for over 20 years.
After retirement, Tillie took on the role of food inventory / ordering and menu organization for the Thorvaldson Care Centre.
Tillie was devoted to her family and always took special interest in the activities of her nieces and nephews. She was grateful to have had the opportunity to travel the world learning about new cultures, and felt fortunate to be able to have had many travel adventures with family members.
She had a passion for gardening, and took great pride in creating her lovely flower gardens over the many years. She loved looking through recipe books for new meal ideas, and enjoyed baking desserts and arranging the menus for various resident parties at the care centre.
She was a wonderful and caring woman, who has left behind many lovely memories for family and friends to remember.
Family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Thorvaldson Care Centre for giving Tillie their friendship, love and support throughout the years - and in particular during these last few difficult months. Thank you also to the staff at 5North Victoria General Hospital for their care.
A celebration of Tillie's life will be held on August 16, 2019 with her family in Regina, SK. A small ceremony in Winnipeg will be held at 7:00 p.m. on August 27, 2019 at Thorvaldson Care Centre, 495 Stradbrook Ave.
Tillie will be greatly missed by family and friends - may she gently rest in peace.

Our deepest condolences Jocelyn, Karen and family. Tillie was the kindest most loving and gentle person that I have ever known. We worked together and became great friends. She was always there for me. My wedding, the birth of my kids, and so many other milestones in my life. She loved my family and we all considered her part of our family. My kids called her aunty from the time they were able to speak. We all loved her with all our hearts. We all looked forward to her Christmas baking especially her delicious fudge every year. She never missed a birthday or a special occasion. We will miss our dear friend and Aunty Tillie. Rest In Peace we will always love and remember you Lucy, Marvin, Melissa and Paul ♥️♥️♥️♥️ - Posted by: Lucy McMillan (Friend ) on: Aug 05, 2019

I remember Tillie as a caring and loving person with lots of character. We enjoyed many laughs and stories at Marlin. She was the kind of person that you could just pick up where you left off even if busy lives kept you apart. She was a very special woman. She will be missed, she was one of a kind. - Posted by: Elaine Furukawa (Co-worker and friend) on: Aug 03, 2019
