GORDON RALPH CONNOR
Dad joined the Air Force at 19 after he obtained his pilots license and served his country during the Second World War. After the war he met the love of his life, our mother Shirley Duncan of Portage la Prairie. They married in 1951 and located in Winnipeg where they raised their family: Susan, Cameron (Sherilyn), Gordon, Marshall (Janeth). He also had nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Dad worked for Transport Canada until his retirement in 1978. He spent many of his years at the family cottage at Falcon Lake where he loved entertaining and hosting block parties.
He never really slowed down until much later in life. There was always something that needed doing - like yard work or gardening. Dad also loved watching sports. If the game had a ball in it he was all in. He could often be heard yelling at the TV when the Blue Jays weren't playing well.
There will be no formal service and a private family function will follow in his memory. Mizpah

Gordon will remain in my memory as a tall, elegant, handsome man who many admired for various reasons. Without trying, he made an impression wherever he went. Our sympathy to Shirley and family. He will be missed. - Posted by: Judy and Al Kuffner (Friends ) on: Aug 31, 2019
