STELLA KAZIMIR

On September 9, 2019, our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 96 years.
Stella was born on September 2, 1923 in Okno, Manitoba. She spent her early life in Okno and many years in Arborg. She moved to Enderby, BC around 1979 and moved back to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1996.
Stella is survived by her sons, Nicholas (Susan) and Daniel (Jannie) Kazimir, her grandchildren, Emma Kazimir-Quinn and Sara Paddock, Michael Sorokowski and Jacqueline Poirier, Melanie Kazimir and Nathaniel Kazimir; her great-grandchildren, Malakai Quinn, Blayre, Austin and Jordan Paddock, Devon Sorokowski, Joel and Zackary Poirier, and Amelia Lambert. She will be missed by all.
Stella was predeceased by her husband Walter Kazimir, her daughter Elaine Sorokowski, son Leslie Kazimir, and sister Pauline Glowach.
Stella is survived by her sisters, Olga Sirman, Anne Burgess, Vicky Bouvier, Helen (George) Lawson, and her brother Steve Glowach.
Stella was a strong woman, a fighter, and a wonderful soul. Stella was a great seamstress, and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She volunteered at Arlington Haus for many years. Stella liked creating in ceramic in her earlier days and loved animals. In her latter days, Stella was very devoted enjoying the rosary, mass, reading about Our Lady of Medjugore and Kibeho. Despite her failing health, Stella remained alert and conversational until she was called to her Lord.
The family wishes to express our sincerest thanks to the Arlington Haus home care staff who helped Stella live independently for as long as possible; the second floor staff at St. Joseph's Residence for the care, love and compassion extended to her, and the staff at St. Boniface Hospital.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at the Blessed Sacrament Parish 710 Roanoke Street, Winnipeg, MB R2C 0K9. Interment will follow the reception at St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Cemetery in Arborg, Manitoba.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Stella may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
