MICHAEL JAMES ROLLWAGEN
September 4, 1944 - December 5, 2019
Peacefully, on Thursday, December 5, 2019, Michael (Mike) Rollwagen, aged 75 years, passed away at St. Boniface Hospital.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Anny; three children, Suzanne (David) Weiner, Scott (Andria) and Chris (Sharlene); six grandchildren, Mady, Evan, Ryane, Abigail, Marlowe and Zachary; brother Alan Kay (Angela) of Scotland; and his grand-dogs, Rem, Roxy and Charlie. Mike was predeceased by his parents, John and Emily; parents-in-law, Hagbart and Carla Lauritsen; and sister-in-law Mariane.
Mike spent his working years as an electrician. In his spare time, he coached minor hockey in Transcona and was involved in Red River Valley Sports League baseball programs for many years.
Mike worked extremely hard to provide for his family, and instilled good values in us, primarily hard work and the importance of community involvement.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff of E6 Medicine at St. Boniface Hospital, notably health care aides, Isaac and Don, for their overwhelming kindness and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation.
