DENNIS FREDERICK RICHARD LERNOUT
June 16, 1952 - January 20, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our brother, Dennis, on January 20, 2020.
Dennis was predeceased by his loving parents, Joseph and Vivian. Left to mourn are his siblings Karen Hekle, David (Lynn) Lernout and Wendy (Greg) Van Walleghem; his brother-in-law Grant Hekle; his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, cousins and friends, including his close pals, Ron Gauthier and cousin Dan Sullivan.
Dennis grew up in Fort Garry, enjoying a long career as head of security at Buhler (formerly Versatile) until his retirement. Dennis was a friendly giant - a fun-loving man who gave a special nickname to all those dear to him. Also an avid sports fan, Dennis especially enjoyed football and horse races.
Dennis, you will be greatly missed. We love you Big Brother.
A private family service will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be in Dennis's memory to The Canadian Diabetes Association.
Our gratitude to the staff of Grace Hospital 3 South for making our brother comfortable in his final weeks.

God looked around his garden
And found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth,
And saw your tired face.

He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering,
He knew that you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting roughAnd the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered "Peace be thine."

It broke our hearts to lose you
But you did not go alone…
For a part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
