ROSEMARIE LE BANE

With deep sorrow, the family of Rosemarie Le Bane announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, after a brief respiratory illness, at the Grace Hospital.
Raised in St. James in a family of four, Rosemarie graduated from St. Mary's Academy and the Women's Business College. During the war years, Rosemarie and her sister Joanne went to work in Ottawa for the Federal Government, where Rosemarie issued government bonds to grain growers of western Canada. At the end of the war, Mom returned to Winnipeg to marry Joseph ("the love of her life"). Rosemarie and Joseph raised their children, Jeffrey and Debbie, in the 1950s, in the quiet neighbourhood of River Heights. Our family dedicated many years to the development and growth of St. John Brebeuf Parish and school.
As the family grew, Mom started a career in retail sales and modelling women's fashions on CTV with Sears. Mom will always be remembered for her culinary skills and memorable Sunday family dinners. In later years, following retirement, Mom and Dad travelled extensively abroad. Mom will fondly be remembered for her kindness, love, devotion to family, and her personal grace.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2020, at St. John Brebeuf Church, 1710 John Brebeuf Place, Winnipeg, MB with a reception to follow.

  • So sorry to learn about your Mom's passing. Given the quarantine at the Villa I did not hear until I checked with staff at Station 3 today. She was a lovely lady who was so fortunate to have such a dedicated and loving daughter. This will leave a huge hole in your life. I hope that time can heal your great loss. You will be missed by all the regulars at Tuxedo. - Posted by: Wayne Walker (Friend from Tuxedo Villa) on: Mar 13, 2020

  • Debbie & Jeff, What a stunning picture of your Mom! I remember her warmth and kindness and knowing when I looked from Beaverbrook to Lanark that you were all there. I know you will miss her dearly. Fifteen years later, I still pick up the phone to call my Mom and I'm sure you will too. Debbie, please be in touch - joanmflood@gmail.com. Love to you all.
