ROSE AUDREY KOTAK
(nee MAZUR)
November 19, 1932 - March 5, 2020
Born in Medika, MB, Rose leaves to cherish her memory, children, Rick (Natalie), Susan Mazur and Brian (Michelle); granddaughters, Caitlin Kotak and Brianna Kotak; sister Nettie Pawling (Kingston, ON), and numerous nephews and nieces. Mom was predeceased by her husband Bill in September 1997 and her sister Marilyn France in December 2010.
Mom and Dad were married October 19, 1957. She initially stayed at home with her children, and later worked at The Bay credit office for 18 years, retiring in 1987. As a family, we enjoyed camping and learning to love nature, boating and fishing. She enjoyed nature through gardening and her flowerbeds. In retirement they travelled abroad. After Dad's passing, Mom fulfilled her dream to make a pilgrimage to the Holy Land and to revisit Ireland with Aunt Nettie.
Mom was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, a member of the CWL since 1957, and served in various ministries. She was a proud founding member of the Charleswood Seniors Centre.
Family viewing will take place on Thursday, March 12, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. at Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue at Sharp Boulevard. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 13, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, 4588 Roblin Boulevard at Grant Avenue, with Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault P.H. presiding. A luncheon will be held in the parish hall, followed by interment at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Portage Avenue.
Her children wish to extend a sincere thanks to the exceptional care and love she received from Grace Hospice, her doctors, nurses, caregivers and her many friends and family that came to visit.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Siloam Mission or the Grace Hospital Foundation, Winnipeg.

Susan, Rick, Brian and families, Neil, Johnathan, Nikki and I are sending you our heartfelt condolences on the passing on your mom. What a beautiful lady and special person. I felt so privalidged to call her my second mom. I will cherish the lunches we shared and the endless phone conversations. Your mom taught me so much especially when it came to the garden. I was always calling her for advise on this or that. I will miss her... Thinking of you all. - Posted by: Alison and Neil Fuhro (Family Friends) on: Mar 19, 2020

We were re-introduced to Rose only a few short years ago. My wife and I always found great pleasure in visiting with her and seeing the strength of the Holy Spirit in her. Our recent conversations centered on her dealing with end-stage cancer. Her strength of Spirit was awesome. Her peace in knowing her next home was also awesome. She had no fear and was anxious to be with her Father in Heaven. It was truly heartwarming to see the peace, a peace that is beyond all understanding. May our prayers be with her family. God bless. - Posted by: Rick and Joy Burik (Cousin) on: Mar 12, 2020

To the Kotak Family my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your mother. I first met Rose at St. Mary's CYO many years ago, also as a member of OLPH church and the Charleswood Senior Centre. She was always an involved and cheerful member. She will be missed. Eleanore Chopp - Posted by: Eleanore Chopp (Friend) on: Mar 12, 2020

I wish to express my sincere condolences for Rick, Susan, Brian and all of your families. Your Mother was a special person. She loved her God and her family dearly. She shared that love with all of those around her. While you will miss her every day, sometimes every moment of every day, you have been blessed to call her Mom, GrandMom, and for me Aunt Rose. I pray peace and strength for all of you in the days, months and years ahead. Adeline (Shewchuk) Hall - Posted by: Adeline Hall (Niece) on: Mar 12, 2020
