Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • I was very sorry to hear of Mr. Stock's passing. My condolences to his family. Mr. Stock taught me art at Westdale Junior High. Always known for his sense of humour and big stash! He was a fantastic teacher and I loved his classes. I loved to draw and he always encouraged me to take things to the next level while having fun doing it. One memory I have is when we were having an assembly in the gym one day and Mr. Stock came running in wearing a very colouful outfit with a cape on and started to run around with a basketball and then proceeded to drain a shot from mid court much to the delight of all the students! Mr. Stock was a class act and great teacher. - Posted by: Scott Green (Former Student) on: Mar 15, 2021

  • Mr. Stock was my favourite teacher! His encouragement as my magic mentor will never be forgotten & his shared passion for magic is the reason I'm a full time professional magician today. I will always remember the time he gave me helping create, build and practice magic. We even restarted the school magic club. I also remember him & I performing our illusions in front of the entire school! Grades 7-9 were my favourite, because of Mr Stock!!! RIP Ron and my sincere condolences to his family. - Posted by: Christopher Cool (Student) on: Jun 21, 2020

  • One cannot think of Mr Stock without having a massive smile. He was by far the best teacher I ever had and that is because he was such a good man. I think often of him and the wonderful time I had in grade 7. RIP Mr Stock, you were awesome! - Posted by: Jon Feldman (Student) on: May 22, 2020

  • I had Mr.Stock as an art teacher during Junior High and he was the best teacher. He made a special art group to challenge some of us and he was so much fun. We destroyed old guitars and turned them into sculptures. I would always run into him later in life and let him know how influential he was as a teacher. Such a great man. Rest In Peace! - Posted by: Whitney Jensen (Former student) on: Mar 25, 2020

  • My oldest memory of Ron is when he was around 8 and I was around 5. His dad and my dad had been overseas together in WWII. Our parents would get together for house parties and the visiting parents would bring their kids over. Ron and I were in my bedroom. After the lights were put out he produced a flashlight and with the use of his hands made terrifying images on the walls and ceilings which scared the life out of me. Over the following years, because of the age difference, Ron was more like a big brother than a friend. He taught me how to ride a bike among many other things. When we were in our early 20s I met Ron and his mom on the bus one day. Ron and I got to talking and decided to go for a few beers that afternoon. So started a new stage to our friendship that lasted until his passing. No one could ask for a better friend. There are no words to express how much I am going to miss him. My best friend has passed but fortunately I have many memories of the experiences and good times we had together. Christmas eve at Ron and Rita's house was a very special time. Halloween was also a great time for Ron. He will be missed by many other friends as well and we were all lucky to have had the privilege of knowing him. Good bye buddy. - Posted by: Mel Inglis (Friend) on: Mar 25, 2020

  • My most heartfelt condolences to Rita and family. Ron was a dear friend who I had the privilege of knowing since childhood, he had a charismatic personality with a sharp wit and infectious sense of humour that from an early age attracted many friends Ron would admit that his many accomplishments in life could not have been achieved without his life partner Rita. Despite recent illness he remained courageous and positive and will be missed by family and friends - Posted by: Bob Dalzell (Friend) on: Mar 24, 2020

  • My condolences to Rita and Family. May your fond memories bring you comfort. A life well lived. Rest in Peace. - Posted by: Gail Rau (High School Friend) on: Mar 23, 2020

  • So glad to have spent some time together. Never forgotten. - Posted by: Lex George (Fellow student ) on: Mar 22, 2020
