My deepest condolences to Mel’s family.I worked for many years with Mel and along with Jack Hewitt(RIP) and Ron Stokes (RIP),we spent many hours together as union representatives and co workers forming a very close friendship over more than 3 decades. Mel was always regarded in high esteem by the correctional staff. He will truly be missed by many. It was a privilege knowing and working with Mel. Rest in Peace my friend. I was saddened to hear of Mel's passing. We worked at SMI together in the late 60's and 70's until I left for B.C. Few men have been held in high esteem as he was for many years. As a past member of the Correctional Service of Canada,I share with many others this loss. - Posted by: William Kynar (coworker) on: Mar 25, 2020
