WILLIAM RONALD GRYWINSKI
June 26, 1946 - May 2, 2020

On Saturday, May 2, 2020, after a short battle with cancer, the world lost a brother and uncle at the age of 73.
Ron is survived by his sister Liz, niece Lisa and the one and only Nola who gave him tons of doggie kisses every time he visited. He was predeceased by his wife Delphine, parents, Olga and Bill, brother Gord, and sister-in-law Linda.
Ron spent his last days at Riverview Health Centre where he reminisced with friends and family over the phone. It was important to him to say his goodbyes to as many people as he could. When it was his time to go, our hope is that he left this world in peace and no longer in pain, knowing we were with him in spirit.
Ron was born in Winnipeg and began his career in sales working for Rothmans in the early 1970s. He made the decision to be his own boss and purchased Interior Drapery, where he spent the next 30 plus years; working right up until his last days. The only thing he liked more than working, was shopping, hunting and fishing - his true passions in life. Nothing stopped him, not even being ill, from hunting and fishing. We could never understand how he could sit for hours and hours, waiting for elk or deer to walk by, but Ron said it was the best place on earth and wouldn't miss it for anything. He had a love for the wilderness; even going as far as feeding the deer in his back yard.
Special thanks to friends, Ross, Tony, Rick, Kevin and Allan who took such good care of Ron - we couldn't have done it without you. We would also like to thank the Dialysis unit at Seven Oaks Hospital and staff at Riverview Health Centre for the amazing care given to Ron in his final days.
In accordance with Ron's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal funeral service.
If people so desire, donations can be made to a charity of their choice.

We will miss you very much;
you will be in our hearts forever

Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • My dad, Gary Demarski, spoke very highly of Ron as we were growing up and into our adulthood. Ron was so very kind to leave a message expressing his condolences when our dad died July 2019, this meant so much and was most appreciated. Now he and dad are patiently waiting and maybe telling one another stories until their families join them. Sending late heartfelt condolences to Ron's family and friends. - Posted by: Sherrie Blair (Friend) on: Aug 31, 2021

  • We are so sorry to hear that Ron has passed away. He was a great friend of ours and also a co-associate for window coverings. We knew he was ill for some time but did not know he would leave us so soon. We sure will miss him. He was so full of energy and yes he did work right up until the end. We love you Ron and will miss you dearly, Simone and Darryl - Posted by: Simone Hince and Darryl Munn of Vari-Ray Blinds (work associates) on: May 26, 2020

  • Liz and Lisa, Sorry for your loss, thinking of you at this difficult time. - Posted by: Pat mitchell (Cousin) on: May 11, 2020

  • I knew Ron for 45 years as he was the very best friend of my late husband Dennis and Uncle Ronnie to both my children. There's a true lifetime of memories that goes with that friendship. He was with us when Dennis left this earth and I know for certain they are together again and more than likely planning a hunting trip on the other side... - Posted by: Adele Deegan (friend) on: May 11, 2020

  • What can a person say when an old friend passes on? Friendship are built on things people have in common and Ron and I were certified hunting nuts. I think back 30ish years ago, when I was just cutting my teeth in the hunting world, chasing after deer. A twelve year old kid that didn’t know anything about anything, except that I just wanted to hunt. Ron would let me use any of his stands or set ups. I didn’t realize how big of a deal it was for a dedicated horn hunter to let some wet behind the ears kid use his stands like that until years later when I came to understand the importance of scent control, wind direction, and noise management in the pursuit of big bucks. Being given those opportunities is something I’ll always remember. I’m glad things could come full circle and I was able to return the favour in these last handful of years. My set ups were yours whenever you needed. It was always fun going out with you to scout out areas to find places to set up for deer. Our evening deer season discussions about guns, calibers, reloading and hunting adventures were something I always looked forward to. I have to say, deer season won’t be the same anymore. I’m going to miss you my friend. We’ll meet again one day, in those happy hunting grounds. - Posted by: Arron Bobier (Good friend, from Steep Rock) on: May 10, 2020
