GERALD (JERRY) ROBERT SAMELS
July 5, 1947 - June 2, 2020
Predeceased by his father and mother, John and Mary Samels (Lazarko); and in-laws, Mike and Edith Olynyk. He leaves to mourn his wife and best friend Judy, son Chris and daughter Angie (Bob Zwaga), only grandchild Randy Zwaga (Tanisha), brother Bill (Lorry), brother-in-law Bob Olynyk, special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Immediate cremation has taken place. Due to COVID a Celebration of Life will take place at a later time.
Thanks to all health care professionals who have cared for Jerry over the years, especially those at St. Boniface Hospital and the Ottawa Heart Institute.
Flowers gratefully declined. I was looking for another notice when Jerry's face and name caught my attention. We barely knew each other, but I remember him from PCI, and discovered we shared a birthday (he a year older). To Judy and family, I am sorry for your loss. It's funny how the old neighborhood kids are appreciative of the lives we lived there and how we still are friends.
