DAVE CALDWELL
Dave leaves behind his wife Dorothy, and their three daughters, Victoria, Genevieve and Allison, of who he was very proud. He also leaves behind his two grandchildren, Gabriella and Parker, whose visits gave him great joy. He will also be missed by his three sons-in-law, Matt Hazeu, Travis Kraus and Brian Talling, whose help around the house and cottage these past years was greatly appreciated. Dave is survived by his sister Mary-Beth and her husband Brian Erickson, as well as his brother Tom.
In accordance with Dave's wishes, cremation has taken place through Wiebe Funeral Home in Altona, MB. No formal service will be held, however there will be an open house in celebration of Dave's life at the family home on Thursday, July 30, 2020, beginning at 3:00 p.m for all those who wish to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any local animal rescue.

I'm so sorry to hear of Dave's passing. May there be comfort in all your wonderful memories of him. When my sons Dylan and Ryan were very young Dave told him his name was Gumma gumma gouchi and they absolutely believed him. I believe the name was even longer than that but this is how I remember it. To this day the boys reference him with that name. My deepest condolences to Dorothy and family. My thoughts and prayers go out to you at this very difficult time. I am so sorry to hear of Dave's passing. We had such great times working together and all the coffee breaks at "The Stock". Dave and I did a lot of fishing. My dad and I enjoyed our really big trip with Dave and his father Jim to Molson Lake. It was awesome! I'm so sad that Dave is gone. He was a mentor to me and is missed. My condolences to Dorothy, the girls and your family. - Posted by: Scott Lobson (Friend, Co-worker) on: Aug 01, 2020

Dave was a good teacher, union leader and service worker at Centra Gas. He took me aside when I was hired and was kind enough to allow me a few ride along days. RIP Dave - Posted by: Craig Sexton (Co worker ) on: Jul 31, 2020

Sorry to hear of the passing of Dave. Dave and I go back a long way, we grew up together in the west end. We played many sports together, went to school together, did a lot of camping in the White shell at West Hawk Lake. We even worked together with Greater Winnipeg Gas which changed to Central Gas. The last ten years we worked at Manitoba Hydro. We enjoyed going to each other houses to watch the Grey Cups when our children were younger. We will sadly miss him and our condolences to Dorothy and family. - Posted by: Doug Black and family (Friend) on: Jul 28, 2020
