PAUL ALBERT FREDERICK PERREAULT
Sadly due to COVID, only two members of his family were allowed to visit on a weekly, rotational schedule. Rest assured that he was reminded daily that all of his loved ones would also have visited had they been allowed and he would nod his head knowingly. We would like to sincerely thank the compassionate and dedicated doctors, nurses and staff of the Grace Hospital for trying to save and comfort him. A special thanks to Dr. April Boyd for all her care over the years...he really appreciated all you did for him, as did we.
Paul was predeceased by his mother Anna Benoit and father Edouard, his first love Nancy Barker, his sisters, Cecile (Denis) and Simone (Don), and brothers, Emile and Peter. He is survived by his second wife Barbara, daughters, Pat Coutts, Sue Howard (Russ), and Sandra Rogers (Craig), seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; his son Marcel (Deb) and granddaughter Shelby; a son Phil (Carrie); a daughter Janet (Mitch); a son Paul Jr. (Barbara), stepsons, Graham (Janelle) and Daren (Jeff); sister-in-law Carol, her children, Barbara Ann, Shannon, Terry and Jennifer; sister-in-law Laura, her children, Wendy and Valerie and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
Paul was born in St. Norbert, Manitoba on April 29, 1931, received his education at St. Avila School, St. Norbert Boys College and the St. Boniface Juniorat. He met his first love Nancy Barker also of St. Norbert and was married on February 16, 1952. They lived and raised a wonderful family of four in St. Norbert. He hand-built his first home on Rue des Trappistes and lived his entire life in St. Norbert. Family activities would always be centered around sports, camping, barbecues and hosting many parties and gatherings. His home was always filled with love and laughter. Paul actively played many sports but his passion was mainly golf, fastball, bowling, horseshoes and curling. He was a player/coach for the St. Norbert Rebels and was a feared long ball hitter. He was also a member of the St. Norbert Crowd Pleasers Horseshoes Club winning many tournaments. He was an accomplished ten-pin bowler representing Manitoba at the Wichita, USA seniors tournament. He coached the St. Adolphe Panthers fastball team, was a member of Southwood Golf and Country Club, a Board Member there for eight years and had the privilege of serving as President in the year 2000. He served as a member of the Steering Committee for their new golf course construction in St. Norbert and particularly enjoyed helping to develop the maintenance department. He received an Honorary Lifetime Membership in 2005.
Paul was also an active member and President of the South of the Border condo board. Employed by Bristol Aerospace for 44 years, starting as a sheet metal worker, then production control, production, planning, management of subcontracts, estimating, purchasing agent, and finally becoming Director of Materials until retirement in 1992. He loved woodworking, renovating projects and making various board games for family and friends... shuffle boards, bean bag toss and cribbage boards.
He also did string art for Gabrielli's Gift Shop on Osborne Street with one of his pieces being bought by the President of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra at that time.
People loved Paul and respected him, "nice guy, such a gentleman, great guy"... these sentiments were common descriptions of our father.
He was our "Superman" and we will miss him dearly... his guidance, his wit, his heart, his warmth, his whistling and his big laugh.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
In keeping with Paul's wishes, cremation has taken place. Due to COVID-19, no funeral service will be held and a private family interment will take place at a later date.

Our deepest sympathy to Paul’s family. Larry and I got to know Paul when he met Barb at Southwood over 30 years ago! We enjoyed their company at golf, Southwood dances and every week playing Canasta..boys against the girls. Paul remembered every card played! We also travelled with Barb and Paul..a month playing golf in Texas, a week crossing Canada on the Rocky Mountaineer plus short trips to Casinos to lose our money. We kept up the friendship for over 30 years.. the last game of cards was on July 31, 2020 - drinks, munchies and laughter. We will miss you Paul, but we have all those wonderful memories. Larry Jonassen and Shirley Clubine. - Posted by: Shirley Clubine & Larry Jonassen (Long time friends) on: Aug 31, 2020

My sincere and heartfelt condolences to all the family for the loss of Paul... your dad. grandfather, husband or whatever he was to each of you. I remember being so impressed by his love of life, sense of humor and his caring for his family. l was introduced to him after Leo and I purchased the home next door to his eldest son Marcel back in 2002....I see a lot of his traits in Marcel. That was a move that I will never ever forget!! We became great friends sharing stories, partying together at each other's home, barbequed meals at New Years, and just being happy to be!! No doubt you all have loving memories of your time with Paul...cherish them forever....I am sure you have lots of them. Hugs and sympathy to you...another wonderful "good guy" gone but not forgotten. With sympathy and Hugs...Marg Leo and Bella. - Posted by: Margaret Glew (Familly Frien!) on: Aug 30, 2020

I had the privilege of knowing Paul as we were both Presidents at Southwood Golf and Country Club as well as worked on the move of the old Southwood to the new. I always enjoyed the times we had together at the Past Presidents Annual golf tournament and he will be surely missed at those. Paul had an incredible life and touched all of those who were fortunate to know him. I wish that we were able to attend a Celebration of Life for Paul so that we could pass on these fond memories of Paul to his family directly but please know you are in our thoughts. Yours sincerely Dr. Gordon Goodridge - Posted by: Dr.Gordon Goodridge (friend at Southwood) on: Aug 29, 2020
