AURELE CHARLE ARTHUR NAULT
December 6, 1931 - September 14, 2020
Dad was born on December 6, 1931, in Richer, Manitoba, the first of five brothers. He received his first violin when he was nine years old and taught himself to play. He and his brothers performed at many dances and social gatherings. It was at one of these functions in Richer where he met Mom. This first encounter led to a loving marriage of 70 years with six of their seven children born in Richer and the baby of the family born in Pine Falls.
Dad, being very athletic, was involved in sports in one form or another throughout his life. In latter years he graduated from playing sports to watching sports and he would not miss many games.
He grew up on the farm and this led to his lifelong love of nature. He had to leave school at a young age to handle the farm when his father fell ill. He was only 14 when he was in charge of logging and Christmas tree harvesting operations.
He worked many jobs over the years to support his family including highway road construction, potash mining in Belle Plaine, Saskatchewan and finished up his career with Abitibi Woodlands in Pine Falls where he retired as a logging supervisor in 1990 after 30 years.
Dad always kept busy and had many hobbies including music, bird watching, craft brewing, camping and woodworking. He built wonderful wooden creations and loved giving them to family members. He loved reading and he kept a daily journal entry for many years but his greatest love was family. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him much joy. He and Mom often reminisced about special moments and sayings from each of them.
Aurèle will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 70 years, Claire and his children, Denise Catellier, Maurice, Laurette (Orland) Bordal, Jeannine (Bill) Lavallee, Suzanne (Bill) Rodger, Claude (Shelley) and Nicole (Geoff) Bell. Aurèle will also be fondly remembered by his 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren, his brother Philip (Louise), and his sisters-in-law, Anna and Gladys. Aurèle was predeceased by his parents, Godfroy and Alexandrine (Vandal), and his brothers, André, Roger and Paul.
A Funeral Mass will be held for immediate family at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2020, at the Catholic Church in Stonewall, Manitoba. The family will have a private interment at a later date in L'Enfant Jesus Cemetery at Richer, Manitoba.

Our deepest sympathies to Auntie Claire and the whole family. Uncle Aurele will be missed. He was a gentle sole with a wicked sense of humour. He loved family gatherings and made everyone welcome. Most of my family is overseas but from the first time I met Uncle Aurele he made me feel welcome and a part of the family; and this was when I was just hitching a ride to hockey games and before I even started dating Donald. I’m going to really miss him. RIP Uncle Aurele ❤️ - Posted by: Namita Nault (Niece) on: Sep 23, 2020

Our deepest sympathy to Aunt Claire and family. Was always a pleasure to see uncle at family gatherings or at a parking lot of a shopping centre as he was waiting for Auntie Claire. He will be missed. Hugs to the family. - Posted by: Gary Champagne (Nephew ) on: Sep 23, 2020
