KUZYK: Michael (Mickey) Steve, of Brandon, Manitoba, passed away at Rideau Park Personal Care Home, on December 6, 2009, at 87 years of age. Mickey was born at Shoal Lake, Manitoba on October 23, 1922. At 12 years of age he started as a carpenter’s apprentice for his step father, Tom. He joined the Canadian Army with Saskatoon Light Infantry (on the Mortar Crew) WWII, serving in North Africa, Italy and the Netherlands. He worked as a carpenter until his retirement at 65 years of age. Mickey looked forward to summer weekends to head to any camp ground and enjoy the outdoors with his family. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy, children Rick, Dianna, Deb and Terry, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also survived by two sisters Mary and Sally and Brother Walt, numerous nieces and nephews. Father was cremated and his wishes will be carried out by family at a later date. Special thanks to all the staff at Rideau Park Personal Care Home for their care of Dad during his time there. Thanks also to Dr.’s Visser, Norman and Ho.
