HACKENSCHMIDT:Ronald Charles, beloved husband of Lorraine and father of Becky, Amy and Jenny passed away at Brandon Regional Health Centre on June 3, 2010. Ron was born to Jack and Freida Hackenschmidt on July 21, 1946. Ron met Lorraine, fell in love, and were married August 31, 1974. They moved out to their acreage near Alexander with their oldest daughter and later the other two girls were born. During his work career Ron worked at Acklands, NAP Auto Parts and in 1981 he started at Canadian Occidental Petroleum Ltd. (presently Canexus). Ron retired in November 2006 at the age of 60. In his own quiet way Ron was always willing to lend a hand to friends and family and others in need. Throughout the years, many enjoyed his dry sense of humor and Ron’s good natured teasing. He took pleasure in doing jigsaw puzzles, golfing, bowling, and he was always willing to play a game of cards. Ron was very family oriented and looked forward to spending time with all members of his family. Ron is survived by his wife Lorraine, their daughters Becky (Peter) Fleming, Amy (Eric) Olson, Jenny (Tyler) Stephens, grandchildren Keira, Ethan, Jordyn, and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters- in-law, nieces, and nephews. The funeral service will be held at Calvary Temple, 620 34th Street on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. The family wishes to thank all those that blessed them during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Westman Youth for Christ, 4-1228 Rosser Ave. in Brandon.
