THOMPSON: Mrs. Jean Isabel Thompson of Melita, passed away at the Melita Health Centre on Sunday, January 2, 2011, at the age of 85. She was predeceased by her parents Daniel and Elizabeth (Devans) Cowan; husband Ernie; daughter Betty Webster; son-in-law Wayne Webster; sister Chrissy Hainsworth; brothers Jim Cowan and Alex Cowan; sisters-in-law Irene Wickham, Margaret Sundell, and Alice Thompson; brothers -in-law: Allie Mowatt, Russell Wickham, Tobb Hainsworth, Gus Sundell, Les Thompson, and Gordon Thompson. Jean is survived by her son Bob (Cheryl Ann Shaw) of Gainsborough; 2 granddaughters: Kim (Kelly) Vandemark and children Aaron, Kristopher & Megan all of Tolley, ND. and Sandra (Ryan) Cook and children Ally, Kayla, Lane and Carter all of Birtle, Manitoba.; sister Margaret Mowatt of Brandon; three sisters-in-law: Florence Cowan of Reston, Lorna Cowan of Brandon and Bernice Thompson of Deloraine, and their families. A service to celebrate Jean's life will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the Victoria United Church, Melita, Manitoba with Reverend Allan Gairns officiating, with interment to at the Melita Cemetery. Donations may be given to the Victoria United Church Memorial Fund Box 159 Melita, Manitoba, R0M 1L0, Melita Cemetery Fund Box 429 Melita, Manitoba, R0M 1L0 or to the charity of your choice.
