MALUTA: William "Bill" Maluta, beloved husband of Sylvia and dear father of Shirley, Donna and Raymond, passed away at Brandon Regional Health Centre on Thursday, January 6, 2011. Bill was born on January 16, 1925 at Benito, Manitoba and moved to Flin Flon as a young boy. He received his education in Flin Flon and then joined the Canadian Navy in 1942. After returning from active service Bill was employed by Hudson Bay Mining in Flin Flon until his retirement. Bill was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Flin Flon and Brandon. He passionately served to develop minor hockey as a coach/manager in Flin Flon and Brandon and as a scout for the Regina Pats for the last sixteen years. Bill is survived by his wife Sylvia, children: Shirley, Donna and Raymond; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters Dora McArthur and Elsie Schoffer of Flin Flon. Bill was predeceased by his parents Nick and Ann Maluta. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Bill's life will take place at McDiarmid Drive Alliance Church, 635 McDiarmid Drive on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. Joe Ball will officiate. Friends who desire may make a donation in Bill's memory to a charity of one's choice.
