GREER: It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Verna Jane Greer (Hourie) on February 7th, 2011 at the Brandon Regional Hospital at the age of 68 years. She was born and raised in Portage la Prairie. She moved to Goodlands, Manitoba where she married Bill Greer, and raised their 8 children together. They then moved to Deloraine where she worked as a nurse’s aide, till her retirement. They then moved back to Goodlands. Verna was a generous, joyful and easy going person who enjoyed doing crafts, knitting, and family gatherings. She leaves to mourn her loving husband Bill Greer, and her children, Reta (Len), John (Donna), Brant (Cathy) Garry, Debbie, Lance (Christine) ,Richard(Marie) and Colleen (Jim), sister Hilda, brothers Roy and Murray, 18 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren, and numerous cousins. Predeceased by her, Mother (Rose), Father (John), and sisters, Joyce, and Lorna. Celebration and memory service will be held at the Deloraine United Church on Thursday February 10, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. With burial to follow at the Goodlands Cemetery.
