HUNT: With deep sadness we announce the death of Cherry H. Hunt (nee Mitchell) of Brandon on Friday, January 20, 2012 at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Born March 5, 1955 in Cape Town, South Africa Cherry was an assertive child. After the death of her father, Cherry and her family moved to England where she later attended Woolston Secondary School in Southampton, United Kingdom. Upon moving to Brandon, Cherry attended Neelin High School and later Brandon University. Over the years Cherry had numerous jobs which included teaching junior high school in Snow Lake, working at the University of Maryland in Germany, working at the Ontario College of Physicians and Surgeons, Sandy Lane Property Owners Association, working with the German Armed Forces based at C.F.B. Shilo as well as teaching at the Assiniboine Community College. Her interests included cooking, catering, teaching and judging. Left to cherish Cherry's memory are her husband Francis, son Chris, brother Ivor Mitchell, sister Ida (Brian) Gibson, nephews Richard and Robbie, niece Karen as well as brother-in-law Michael and sister-in-law Sally. She was predeceased by her parents Herbert and Minnie Mitchell. The Ceremony to Celebrate Cherry's Life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 339 - 12th Street, Brandon on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Dr. Dong-Ha Kim will officiate. Interment will take place at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined, friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Cherry to the Westman Dreams for Kids Foundation, Unit 202-37 11th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 4J2.
