FEHR: Broderick James October 3, 1953 – January 9, 2014. It is with heavy hearts that the family of Broderick “Rick” James Fehr announce his passing on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Rick was a generous guy with a big heart. He had a great earthy sense of humour and loved telling a good joke that would always bring a smile to your face. Rick spent his early years working on a ranch in Alberta and had many fond memories of the time he spent there. He and Val also lived in the Northwest Territories for a time until finally moving back to Brandon where he worked at Simplot for a number of years. Rick finished off his career at TC Vending in Brandon. He and Val later retired to Wawanesa until health issues forced them to move back to Brandon. Rick always enjoyed being outdoors gardening or doing odd jobs around the yard which he was so very proud of. Rick was only 60 years old at the time of his passing and he left us far too soon. His family and friends will miss him terribly. Rick is survived by his wife Valine, his children Tammy Fehr, and Jason Fehr, and Val’s children Donna Bellow (Tim), Kevin Bartram (Donna), grandchildren Megan Bellow (James), Zachary Bartram, and Madison Bartram. He is also survived by his brothers Ken Fehr (Judith), Tom Fehr (Phyllis) and Dan Fehr (Marlo) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. At Rick’s request, there will be no service, a celebration for family and friends will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rick’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 3-824 18th Street, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 5B7. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com. Arrangements with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 204-727-0330.
