ABRAHAMS: David Abrahams, age 82 years, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Friday, July 18, 2014. David was born at Winnipeg, Manitoba on April 23, 1934. He grew up on a dairy farm at Pigeon Lake, Manitoba. He attended a country school for grades one to eight and high school at Mennonite Collegiate Institute in Gretna, MB, graduating in 1951. David was a journeyman for MTS working in various locations including Central Office in Winnipeg, Portage la Prairie, Neepawa area and Brandon. He retired in 1989. David enjoyed travelling which included special trips to Germany, Austria and Paris. Watching football was a favorite pastime for David, attending several Grey Cup games, but Curling was his number one sport. David is survived by his loving wife Anne, son Darren, daughter Sharlene, sisters Erna Martens, Tina Schulz and Irene Defer, brothers Arnold (Mary), Herb (Rita) and many nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his parents David and Katharina Abrahams and four brothers. Funeral Service was held at Memories Chapel on Saturday, July 26, 2014. Pallbearers were Garth Abrahams, Kevin Abrahams, Kim Osawe, Dennis Hunt, Don Alston and Richard Driedger. Interment took place at the Brandon Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined.
