FIEL: Stanley Fiel of Shoal Lake, MB passed away at the age of 82 on July 22, 2015 at Lion’s Wing Personal Care Home, Shoal Lake, with family by his side. Stanley was born November 13, 1932 at Rossburn, MB to Peter and Mary (Lazaruk) Fiel. On July 28, 1955 he married Mary Kotyk and they settled on the farm at Kelloe, where they raised three children. Over the years, Stan worked very hard to provide for his family by farming, working at Chegwin Construction, as greensman at Lakeside Golf Course, and driving truck for Bennett Transport, West-Central Agri-Services, and Paul’s Hauling. He was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Helen and Lillian, his nephew Calvin and niece Sherri. Stan leaves to mourn his wife Mary, just one week shy of their 60th wedding anniversary. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Jody and her husband Owen Bryce of Strathclair; his son Guye of Swan River; and his daughter Vimy and her husband Ken Spangler of Edmonton. Gigi is missed by his grandchildren: Jordan Bryce of Brandon, Kristin and Tyler Letkeman of Brandon, and Janna and Terrell Wiebe of Winnipeg, as well as by his great-grandchildren Violet Letkeman and Rowan Wiebe. He is also survived by his brother Edward of Rossburn and his sister Sue (Jim Budinski) of Brandon, as well as many nieces and nephews. Stan loved the outdoors and taught his family to enjoy camping, hunting and fishing. Stan was community-minded: he was a volunteer ambulance driver and a long-time member of Shoal Lake Lions Club. During his time with the Lions Club, he served as president and Zone Chairman. Along with Premier Ed Shreyer, Stan turned the sod on the Lions Wing Personal Care Home site. Stan was proud to receive numerous Driver of the Year awards and to achieve one million miles of incident -free driving with Paul’s Hauling. After retiring from trucking, Stan enjoyed coffee time with his friends, touring the countryside in his truck, walking at the Arena, hunting and fishing, and having more time with his family. The family wishes to thank all the dedicated staff at the Personal Care Home for the wonderful care and compassion Stan received over the past two years. A private funeral service will be held on July 28, 2015 with Pastors Terrell and Janna (Bryce) Wiebe officiating. Interment will follow in Shoal Lake Municipal Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Morley House Personal Care Home Activities Department or to Shoal Lake Handi-Van. Remembrances and condolences may be emailed to raesfs@mymts.net Rae’s Funeral Service in charge of arrangements. (204) 759-2160.
