FINNIGAN: Judith Finnigan passed away on April 6th, 2016. She was born and raised in Portage. Her family consisted of nine children, her mother and father. Her childhood was very positive, filled with music, laughter, and lots of love. After high school she married and moved with her family to Nelson, BC, after twelve years of marriage she divorced. She met her husband Bryan in Nelson, they married and moved back to Manitoba. Judith worked as a therapist at Mount St. Francis in Nelson, and The Assiniboine Centre in Brandon. She attended Notre Dame University and the University of Winnipeg. She received a B.A. from the University of Winnipeg. Judith was a volunteer with the Arthritis Society, The Anglican Order of St. Luke, The Prayer Rooms, Samaritan House, The Conservatory Chorale, Youth For Christ, Al-Anon, and Teen Challenge. She received awards for her volunteer activity including: The Kiwanis Don Wood Memorial Community Service Award, The Arthritis Society Award of Distinction, and the Government of Canada Certificate of Merit. Judith was a gifted painter and she taught painting at work. She was a kind and thoughtful person, full of life and love! She will be remembered by her friends and family including: Husband Bryan, son Gerald (Cheryl), granddaughters Rachelle (Ryan), and Brittany (Matthew), grandson Joseph (Faye), great-granddaughters Sophia, Emily, McKenzie and Azura; great-grandsons Mark and Jayden, her sisters Barbara, Joan, Laura and Cathy, brothers Gavin (Kay), Gerry (Edie) and Cal (Jo-Anne). A Celebration of Life will be held for Judith at Bethel Christian Assembly on April 20th at 1:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Judith may be made to Teen Challenge, c/o Bethel.
