GIBB: With broken hearts we want to announce the peaceful passing, in his sleep, of James Duncan Gibb in the early morning of June 30, 2019. Jim is survived by his wife of 12 years Sheila, his sister Evelyn McKay, niece Audrey (Ed) Rosenberg and family, and Sheilas family of Barbara, Barry (Marion), Letitia (Mark) and families. Jim was born February 2, 1937 in Brandon to Alex and Catherine Gibb. He was the youngest of four and was predeceased by his siblings George and Ruby. Jim spent his entire working life farming with his brother, George, in the Brandon area. He was a well-respected gentleman. Since meeting Sheila, he enjoyed dancing, shuffleboard, pool and wood-working. He was an avid reader of westerns and loved western movies. Jim will be greatly missed by his four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be held at Knox United Church, 451-18th Street, on Friday, July 5, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Harvey Hurren officiating. Interment will take place at the Zion Cemetery. Donations in memory of Jim may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 1379 Kenaston Blvd., Winnipeg, MB, R3P 2T5, the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation, Western Manitoba Cancer Centre, 150 McTavish Ave. East, Brandon, MB, R7A 2B3, or to a charity of choice.
