GARDNER: Calvin Lyle. Calvin passed away at his residence in Calgary, AB on March 1st, 2019 at the age of 62 years, due to complication following a stroke on November 2nd, 2018. Calvin was born in Brandon on June 4th, 1956 to Albert and Norma Gardner. Cal left school at an early age, working various jobs until he found his niche as a forklift operator at a lumber yard. He loved his job and was well-respected by his boss and his co-workers. Calvins greatest passion was his motorcycles and he like nothing more than to go for long rides on the mountain trails with the wind and sun in his face. He was a free spirit and on his journey through life he touched the hearts of many and made friends easily. He loved watching hockey and basketball on tv. Calvin spent 35 years of his life living with his brother, Greg. Greg has a saying Cal was the muscle and he was the brains. Because of their unique living arrangement, Gregs three children Jennifer, Alana and Kimberly had their lives enriched with the constant presence of Cal. Calvin was predeceased by his father, Albert (1989), brother Gerald (1992) and niece Dana Dyck (2004). Surviving Calvin are his son Matthew of Edmonton, mother Norma of Brandon, sisters Linda (Dyck) and Debra (Taylor) of Brandon, brother Greg (Donna) of Calgary and Christopher of Edmonton and Aunt Marjorie of Brandon. Calvin will be greatly missed by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation has taken place and a private family Interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial on Thursday, July 25th. Donations in memory of Calvin may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.Death leaves a heartacheNo one can heal,Love leave a memory No one can steal.
