LACHARITE: Marlene Lacharite (McDougall) born August 28, 1948 in Brandon, MB passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 in High River, AB. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Shane, of Calgary and Todd, of Lethbridge. Marlene was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Alvin, in 2016. She worked and volunteered in many schools during her life. Beginning in 1975 at Green Acres Elementary School (Brandon) in the library and assisting students with crafts; Green Acres Community newsletter and canvasing for Heart and Stroke and Cancer Research. Once her boys progressed to junior high, she continued at New Era Elementary School (Brandon) supervising the breakfast program and assisting students with crafts while working as a part time school cleaner. After moving to Swift Current in 1992, she continued to assist local school children with crafts and a lunch program. After retiring to Vulcan, AB in the late 90’s, she volunteered at the Vulcan Regional Food Bank for over 15 years until 2018. Marlene wishes were for a Private Funeral and any donations in her memory, to be made to Stars Air Ambulance at stars.ca. Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.myalternatives.ca.
