LAURA GALLANT
Aug. 28, 1951-July 23, 2017
Laura died peacefully surrounded by her family.
She will be sadly missed by her siblings, Jeanne D’Arc (Guy) Thibert, Diane Schipper, Germain (Michelle), Yvan (Louise), Claire, André, Louis, Yvette (Jim) Stevenson and Annette; in-laws, Shirley and Norm Peters and Allan Tarasenco; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Laura was predeceased by her partner of 30 years Larry Tarasenco, brother-in-law Theodore Schipper and her niece Nicole Gallant all in 2007, her father Noé Gallant in 2013 and most recently her mother Rolande Gallant in June 2017.
Laura lived a good part of her life in La Broquerie, MB where she made many friends and became a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed participating in all their activities and socializing with the girls. Her passion was her arts and crafts where many hours were spent creating, teaching and simply enjoying her creations.
Honorary pallbearers are members of the La Broquerie Red Hat Society – Cecile, Rita, Doris, Lea, Louise, Antoinette, and Jeanne.
The funeral mass was held on Thursday, July 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the St Boniface Cathédrale, 190 ave de la Cathédrale, Winnipeg, MB.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba.
Thank you to the Palliative Care Unit at St Boniface Hospital for their care and support.
