MARY MANN
January 2, 1940 – March 27, 2016
Mary passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016, at St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, MB, at the age of 76.
She is survived by three nieces and two nephews: Robert Koop, Marlene (John) Shade, Russell (Pauline) Koop, Myrna Banman, Mavis (Tim) Reimer and their families.
She was predeceased by her parents Helen and Phillip Mann, her beloved sister Elizabeth (Mann) Koop and her brother-in-law Abe Koop.
Mary was born on January 2, 1940, to Helen and Phillip Mann. She was born with a physical disability but not a mental disability. She was a very smart, independent and opinionated lady, who knew what she liked and wanted and made sure everyone else did too.
She worked at Kindale for sometime, but it proved to be too difficult for her to work with wood, so she moved to the Steinbach Sports Injury Clinic to do their laundry. She worked for Kindale for a total of 40 years getting to know a lot of people who loved her.
She was a practical joker, more so with some people than others. She enjoyed using her computer and loved printing out letters and poems for friends and family. She loved going to family barbeques and upon arrival and departures, hugs were expected. Mary enjoyed going once a month to the independent living ladies’ group supper at the Food Bank, with her good friend and Envision worker Sandi Senkiw.
She was an amazing, one of a kind woman and will be greatly missed.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 162 Hwy. 52 W., Steinbach, MB, with a viewing prior to the service. Interment will be at the Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach, MB.
If friends so desire, donations in memory of Mary may be made to the charity of your choice.
