Cornelius (Cornie) Wiebe of Steinbach, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Bethesda Hospital at the age of 83. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Nettie (nee Dyck) and children: Marilyn (James Browne), Rose (Ron Blackburn), Clare (Alvina), Randy (Angeline), Rod, Wes (Veronika), Ken (Cristina), Brad (Elle), Pat Mackenzie and their families; brothers: John, Peter, Abe; and sister Anne.
He was predeceased by his son-in-law Shane Mackenzie, brothers Jacob and Henry, sister Sarah, and his parents Henry J. and Sara Wiebe.
Cornie along with his twin brother Peter began life in the Neuhoffnung area near Altona on June 5, 1932. Work, marriage and family led them make their home in Winnipeg, then in the Niverville area and finally in Steinbach.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB, with viewing at the chapel prior to the service. Interment to follow at Hespeler Cemetery, Niverville, MB.
