ALCIDE FORTIN
Alcide Fortin of South Junction, Manitoba, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Vita Hospital, at the age of 92 years.
Left to mourn his passing are his children: Robert (Diana) of Wampum, Charles of Vita, and Wendy (Philip) of South Junction. He is also survived by three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, four foster great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Alcide was predeceased by our mother, Joan, on June 30, 2015; a loss from which he never recovered. They had been married for 66 years.
Dad was born on April 17, 1923 to Laura (Labossière) and Ernest Fortin. He was the seventh of seventeen children, five of whom remain to mourn his passing: Roland of Clarkleigh, Alfred (Ingeborg) of St. Laurent, Alma Berthelette of Winnipeg, Alice Walsh of Teulon, and Marie Garbett of Abbotsford, B.C.. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The memorial service for Alcide and Joan will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at at Wampum Lutheran Church, Wampum, Manitoba. Ash interment will follow.
