ELIZABETH LILLYANN KORNELSEN

Elizabeth Lillyann Kornelsen was born on Apr. 20, 1977 to Abe and Marcy Kornelsen in Steinbach, MB. Her first three years were spent at Morris, MB.

Growing up she was always the quiet one. She went to school in Steinbach and graduated in 1995 from Steinbach Christian High School.

She married Travis Rempel in 1998, a relationship that ended in 2003. They had two boys, Ethan in 1999 and Quillan in 2003.

She was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis in 1999. Over the last 16 years she was in and out of the hospital many times. She had many surgeries as well.

She was often frustrated with her disease and upset, but she never gave up. She was such an encouragement to others. Her friends came hoping to encourage her and so often they would leave encouraged. She was in a women’s cell group at Southland Church which really encouraged her as well.

As her disease progressed she became weaker and was once again frustrated. Her body didn’t want to cooperate with her.

She moved from Giroux and back with her parents almost three years ago, needing more assistance. She really loved her home in Giroux and found it very hard to adjust.

Lilly passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach.

Lilly is survived by her sons Ethan, 15, and Quillan, 11, her parents Abe and Marcy, sister Lucy and her husband Willie and their daughters Shoreh and Janaya, her brother Tony, her brother Joey and his wife Shelby. She is also survived by many uncles, aunts and extended family.
