HELENA KOOP
Helena passed away quietly in her sleep in the early morning of September 15th at the age of 92 years and 3 1/2 months.
Left to remember her is: one sister Maria and one brother Henry; four sisters-in-law: Elizabeth, Eleanor, Margaret, and Shirley; as well many nieces and nephews. Six brothers: Jac, Pete, Gerhard, Hans, Frank and Albert; and a sister Katherin went before her. Oh, yes there was a little brother Heinrich in 1918 who is also up there to greet her.
She loved her garden and worked in it when time would permit. Sewing too was often put on hold even when she needed a new dress. When nieces and nephews came she loved to play board games. Reading too was a pleasant past time. She knew how to put on a delicious meal. There were few birthdays forgotten.
For many years she worked at Granny's poultry co-op but in the evenings she would look after the needs of a blind brother Jac and father.
In the earlier years she would help out in the Sunday school as treasurer.
She was on the waiting list for Rest Haven nursing home but God took her on a short cut to a much better abode.
Funeral service will be held Friday, September 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 162 Hwy 52 West, with viewing at the chapel prior to the service. Burial will follow at Blumenort E.M.C. Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideon Bible Society which is a world-wide ministry.
Thank you
