WALTER TOEWS
Walter Toews passed away peacefully in his sleep at Rest Haven Nursing Home on Friday, August 1st, 2014 at the age of 91. He was born July 24, 1923.
He grew up on a farm in Ekron where he had many chores which included milking and watering the cows and hauling fire wood for the house. When his family moved to Steinbach, he was able to go to the work shop and picked up groceries for Grandma and Grandpa. Later together with his mother, he moved to Rest Haven, where he lived for 41 years.
He is survived by his brother Joe and sister Dorothy. He was predeceased by 13 siblings.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at 2:00 pm at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach.
The family gives their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Rest Haven Nursing Home for the many years of care they provided.
