EVELYN FELEPCHUK

Mom was born in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta to Ross and Edna Brown on September 30, 1944. Mom, the youngest of five, grew up enjoying the outdoors in the foothills, especially hopping on her horse and going for a ride. As a young woman, Mom lived in numerous communities throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan. During her travels, Mom met and married Dad, Ted Felepchuk, eventually settling in Westlock, Alberta. From there, we moved to the North West Territories, finally settling in Steinbach, Manitoba in 1986.

Mom loved the outdoors, especially making us weed her garden! Mom enjoyed the morning sun and sipping her coffee and visiting with friends. Her treats in life were playing cards, BBQs, road trips and spending time with family and friends.
Anyone who met Mom knew she had a huge heart, open arms, and she made the best buns.

Although the last few years were rough, health wise, Mom’s spirit was never beaten. Mom always saw the bright side and her sense of humour put us at ease. It saddens us to say that our bright light, best friend and Mom passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014.

Mom leaves to cherish her memory: her sons: Edward (Joanne), and Michael; daughter Ann (Fernando); Mom’s three brothers: Willie (Pat) Brown, Alvin (Joyce) Brown, and Alan (Sharon) Brown; brother-in-law Lorne Moorehead and numerous nieces, nephews and her “adopted” kids.

Mom was predeceased by her parents, sister Adella and sister-in-law Ruth.

The memorial service for Evelyn Felepchuk will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive, Steinbach, Manitoba.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Evelyn may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association (MB Branch).
