ARMOND GENDRON
1930-2013

Sadly, with his children by his side, Armand Gendron passed away at the age of 83 on November 27. Dad “Papa Bear” was a man of many stories, talent and wisdom. He was inspiring to all his friends and family. Papa Bear was a very kind, gentle and funny man. He will be sadly missed by his wife Jeanne, his children Denis, Norbert, Roger, Irene (Gordon), Suzanne; His grandchildren Aden, Terry (Natasha), and Justine. Pre-deceased by his two sons Michel and Raymond, his father Oscar, step father Wilfred, mother Eleanor, his brother Denis, Louis, Maurice, and sister Mona. He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Elianne (Fred), Cecille (Al) brother Marcel (Julia) and sister in laws Irene and Elaine. He will also be lovingly remembered by his wife’s family Annette, Simone, Cecile (Clement), Raymond (Angele), Guy (Cecile), Irene, Helen (Napoleon) and Guy Boulianne.

Armand worked at TransCanada Pipelines for 28 years, as a Maintenance & Heavy Equipment Operator and retired in 1988. He then moved to Woodridge Manitoba, into a log home that he, mom and their kids had built. Armand was very proud of his log and cedar house and resided in Woodridge until his last days. In 1990, Dad began his own backhoe and heavy equipment business. Dad loved hauling gravel, topsoil, installing septic tanks, pulling tree stumps, and clearing snow for the community of Woodridge and its surrounding areas. He adored the company of all his friends, neighbors and old co-workers.

A celebration of Armand’s life will take place 2:00 pm, Monday, December 2, 2013 at Winnipeg Evangelical Free Church, 500 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, MB.

Our family would like to thank the community and many friends of Woodridge and the surrounding area for all their generosity, kind visits and for all their care and compassion. We are also thankful for the care and support of the Bethesda Hospital staff and South Eastman Health staff.

We especially thank Evelyn Fillion for all her wonderful care and attention. We are so grateful to you Evelyn, especially Dad.
