PETER J. B. FUNK
April 13,1928-October 28,2013

Peacefully and with the grace of our Lord Jesus, Peter J.B. Funk, at the age of 85 years, passed away on October 28, 2013.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 65 years, Eva U. Funk, seven children: Annie Krahn, Jake (Betty) Funk, Peter (Susanne) Funk, John (Anita) Funk, Mary (Jerry) Kehler, Jim (Rose) Funk, and Glenn Funk; 21 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and four great- great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents Jacob and Anna Funk, two grandchildren: Therese and Doug, and one son-in-law Victor Krahn

Peter was born on April 13, 1928. He grew up in the Barkfield area with one brother John and four sisters: Helen, Sarah, Anne and Susan. He worked at the Grunthal Meadowland Cheese Factory for 32 years. Peter really loved gospel music and appreciated it when family gatherings included much singing of Hymns. Peter loved his Lord Jesus, his family and the Weidenfeld church in Barkfield, where Peter and Eva attended faithfully. He had a deep spirituality that helped him live life. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remain in our hearts, until we meet again.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30, at the Birchwood Funeral Chapel.

The funeral service for Peter J. B. Funk will be held on Friday November 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Birchwood Funeral Chapel, with viewing prior to the service. Interment to follow at the Grunthal Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at HSC and Bethesda hospitals for their care for Peter.

For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, they can make donations to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation in honor of Peter J.B. Funk.
