May 19, 1926 - September 26, 2020
Alex was born in Barking, UK. He was introduced to The Salvation Army as a young child, beginning a lifetime of service to the Lord. Alex served in the Royal Marines, met and married Maureen and had three children, Nicola, Catrina, and Mark.
They immigrated to Owen Sound, Ontario, in 1963. Their fourth child Lisa was born in Canada. Maureen fell ill and Alex retired to care for her until she passed away. Alex married Shirley in 1993 and added three more children to the family - Stephen, Brenda and Karin. They moved to Winnipeg to assist with The Flood of the Century in 1997.
Many will remember him as "Willy" from the many years spent at The Salvation Army Camp. He touched many people's lives in his 94 years.
Alex/Grandpa will be missed very much by his grandchildren, Macaela and Stefan Fedullo, Zachary Walters, Howard and Simon Cade.
Alex passed peacefully with Shirley at his side.

Alex Watkinson is the fine example of a Christian gentleman, leader and gentle - humble lover of man-kind. His dedication to service to others is some what quiet unique. A wonderful man, a privilege to be his friend, to have spent time in this journey of life, sharing, caring and sorting out the coffee beans of life, till we meet again, Amen. Peace and blessings to all his family and friends. - Posted by: Reverend D. Scott & Kathleen Pruden (Friend) on: Nov 01, 2020
