ELMER KORMAN
He will be forever remembered by his wife, Florence of fifty-nine years, his sons, Brad (Heather), Gerald (Denise), and Trevor, grandchildren, Ashley, Kerri, Nikkol, Brandon, Shaylene, Mathew, Ethan, and Aaron. He is survived by his sister Diane (Tommy), and his niece Lori (Ray). He was predeceased by his father, Nick, in 1982, and his mother, Anne, in 1995.
He was born in Winnipegosis, MB on November 20, 1939. He married "the Angel in his life" OR "his wife for life" (Florence Monchka) on June 24, 1961. He advanced in his retail career from Manager, to Supervisor, and then to Clothing Buyer with Robinson Little and Co. He also managed Co-op stores in Vermilion Bay, ON and Sandy Lake, MB, where he then retired, and moved to Sanford, MB.
While living in Tisdale, SK, he was a member of the Kinsman Club, coached a baseball team to the Provincials and was an active outdoorsman. He valued the outdoors and sharing time with his wife through activities such as berry and mushroom picking, camping and travelling. He won trophies in 10-pin bowling and enjoyed curling and golfing. He enjoyed spending time with the family doing activities like camping, boating, snowmobile riding, hunting, fishing and playing cards. His most cherished activity was being a gracious host to family and friends that he shared many memorable times with.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place, a service and his ashes will be interred at a later date in Dauphin, MB.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his honour may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
We take this time to acknowledge and thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Victoria General Hospital for their compassionate care of our dear husband and father. We appreciated the special attention that Nurse Joanna and Dr. Leung provided for our family during this difficult time.
Although it wasn't easy, we knew it was time to let you go El/Dad. We will miss you forever, but you will live on in our hearts and our cherished memories. Until we meet again.
