From that smiley little baby to a rambunctious kid to a compassionate adult, I was always so fond of Derek. I will always smile when I think of him. My heart breaks for you Bill and Cheryl, Crisha, Carly, Aaron, Sean and families, Michelle, Rylan and Colby. Your warrior will watch over you from a different place, but he will be watching. He always seemed to show up when he was needed. Despite his rough exterior ( A true Viking characteristic) he had a huge heart. He knew the true meaning of family! Always remembered, thinking of all of you. Godspeed to you Derek. - Posted by: Wendy Whall (Aunt) on: Jan 27, 2021

My heart breaks for both Cheryl & Bill there is no greater loss than losing a child, all I can say is within time you will find some kind of inner peace within. Don't put a time on that day it will come & you will know when you find that peace. Always talk about your memories with your family cherish them. Thinking about all of you, heal together as a family. Rest in peace Derek, always remembered always loved, Sandy & Morris - Posted by: sandra zamonsky (aunt) on: Jan 25, 2021
