CHRISTOPHER JOHN DANT
June 8, 1963 - January 27, 2021

Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, Chris passed away at home on January 27, 2021 at the age of 57.
Survived by beloved wife Karen Stuart, son Thomas Stuart-Dant, goddaughter Stacy Joy, brother Rob Dant, sister Shanlee Johnson (Robert) of Winnipeg, niece Sharilyn Johnson of Toronto as well as numerous relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents John "Norman" and Marilyn "Joan" Dant.
Chris was a marketing guy, antique buff, guitarist, hockey writer/agent/scout and cancer fighter! He was the Manager of Group Sales and Partnerships with the Winnipeg Goldeyes Baseball Club, former Account Executive, Corporate Partnerships with the Winnipeg Jets.
He loved spending time at the cottage in Matlock and watching his son Thomas play hockey. Chris was a member of the Fabulous Ford 50s club, Manitoba Antique Association, played the guitar with St. Charles Community Band, and of course, his dog Rusty.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to be determined.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Gingerich and Cheryl at CancerCare Manitoba. We also want to thank the doctors and nursing staff at the Grace Hospital, a special thank you to Holly, Mackenzie and Kim and the Palliative Home Care team.

  • Please accept my condolences Karen, Thomas and family. It was lovely having a chance to meet Chris and kibbitz with him from time to time in the MYS parking lot at the end of some of your very long days. I am truly sorry for your very great loss and wish you no more sorrow. May his memory be a blessing for you and all who mourn the loss of a very nice man.
