RAM KISHORE AGRAWAL
July 9, 1935 - May 18, 2021
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Indira; his daughters, Usha and Veena (Cameron); his sister Jamuna; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Ram was born in Lucknow, India to a large, loving family. He trained in law in India, moved to and practised in England, and then immigrated to Canada in the late 1960s. He worked in The Pas, then served as town lawyer for Carberry for decades, before moving his practice to Winnipeg.
He was known for his kindness, generosity and humour. He counted those from all walks of life amongst his close friends. He was intelligent, well-versed not just in law, but in history, politics, religion, literature, and general knowledge. He was full of interesting stories and random facts, and enjoyed sharing them. His other favourite topic of conversation were his daughters' accomplishments. He prided himself on being a good host. As a guest, you could expect to be plied with Grand Marnier (or, in later years, Butter Pecan Ensure).
In accordance with his wishes, no funeral service is being held.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his memory to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
Special thanks to everyone who helped care for him, including the chemotherapy staff at CancerCare St. Boniface, Dr. Benjamin Goldenberg, Dr. Eren Beshara, Dr. David Hochman, Dr. Jack Rusen, and Dr. Elena Bykova.
In his honour, we invite you to follow one of his favourite pieces of advice: "Make somebody smile today." Make a donation to

Our thoughts and prayers are with you Indu Aunty, Usha, Veena , Cameron and family. Some people come into your life and very quietly change the very direction of your life. Ram Uncle was one of those people. I have such fond memories of visiting him at his condo and savoring the delicious pizza he would order at every visit. His hospitality and kindness knew no bounds. At one visit I mentioned how much I loved his rocking chair and without hesitation Ram Uncle gave it to me! I still have that rocking chair and to this day it puts a smile on my face. When my parents celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary, Ram Uncle and Indu Aunty offered their home, their advice and their hearts. I will never forget that. Years later in Winnipeg Ram Uncle shared with him his journey to Canada as a young lawyer in the early 1960's Toronto. I was keenly aware of the tremendous courage and determination that it took to make this journey as new immigrant . Ram Uncle you broke many glass ceilings! Your leadership, generosity and integrity will live on forever in our hearts and actions. You were a pioneer. I am blessed to have known you and feel inspired by your life. Rest in peace, you left a beautiful legacy. - Posted by: Sylvie E Mannil (Friend) on: May 29, 2021

I on behalf of the entire family in Lucknow, his birth place would like to share that he was our father like uncle. When he was with us he cared us a lot like a father. He always supported us . His last visit to Lucknow was in the year 1996-1997 with auntie, Usha & Veena. We enjoyed for a week or so with him. He will always be in our memory. He is a self made man and we always take inspiration from him. Our last talk was in the last week of March this year. He was very soft spoken. He will remain in our heart always. We send our condolences with full of our hearts. Guddoo & all family members. - Posted by: Umesh Kumar Agrawal (Nephew) on: May 22, 2021

To the family - please accept my condolences in the passing of Mr. Agrawal. I had a lot of dialogue with Ram when I worked in Carberry, MB in the 80's and always appreciated his advice and some of which I still follow after nearly 40 years. God bless you as you reflect on the good times you had with him. - Posted by: Hank Hildebrand (Acquaintance) on: May 20, 2021
