MICHAEL DAVID WELBERGEN
As a boy, Michael was a member of Crestview Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. In the early 1980s, he was a member of the Winnipeg Junior Strings Orchestra. In high school he played football with the Sturgeon Creek Schooners and was proud to be a Winnipeg Blue Bombers supporter.
As he grew up, Michael started to take an interest in technology. His knowledge and love for electronics and tech led to his current work in the IT sector.
In 2014, Michael married Brandy, the love of his life. Both he and Brandy loved and kept several cats. They both contributed to and assisted at Craig Street Cats.
Michael was predeceased by his father Anthony (Tony) in 2010 and by his wife Brandy who died tragically in 2017. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother Sheila, siblings, Andrew and Susan, nephews, Josh and Noah, and many relatives in England and the Netherlands.
Due to COVID restrictions, a private family funeral has taken place.
If desired, donations in Michael's memory may be made to Craig Street Cats or a charity of your choice.

To all our family in Canada. It's only the miles that separate us - family love bridges those miles and we grieve together. We share in the sadness but are blessed by good memories. We send our love to you all. Dee & Martin (UK) - Posted by: Dee & Martin Colam (Cousin) on: Jun 16, 2021

Our deepest sympathies to Mike's family. We were shocked and saddened to hear the news of Mike's passing. Working with Mike for many years and sharing in laughter with his great sense of humor. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and great comebacks. Always willing to help people even after working at Jostens. We kept in touch and shared views from politics to hockey to everyday life. - Posted by: Rob and Destiny (co-worker and friend) on: Jun 10, 2021

My sincere sympathy to Mike's family. He will forever be remembered as a friend to many of us, a truly talented guy with a great sense of humor. His snappy remarks and ready laugh added so much to our work team every day. My heart went out to him each time he shared how much he missed his Brandy. Gone too soon but never forgotten - with love & sympathy. - Posted by: Lynda J (Friend) on: Jun 08, 2021

Although I didn't know Michael personally, I was a good friend and Priest to his mother, Sheila. May the family begin to heal, in knowing that Michael has at last gained the peace he had been seeking. We pray for his soul, and for healing for the family. You are all loved, and know that you are held up in love and prayer. - Posted by: Rev. Gordon Shields (Friend of family) on: Jun 05, 2021
