  • I got to know Lyla working at Richardsons. I think of her friendship, kindness, humor, and always helpful in so many ways, our coffee group every morning before work, and I am so glad Lyla and some of our co-workers got together for dinner at the legion - this was a happy memory for all. R.I.P. Lyla, heaven only takes the best. Carol Vauclair - Posted by: carol vauclair (co worker) on: Oct 04, 2021

  • It is with a very sad heart that George and I bid farewell to dear Lyla. She was a very wise person who saw things as they were. Befriended by those that truly counted in her life she walked with grace and honour. She always stood for what was just and meaningful and had a very generous heart. Lyla was a great wife to my brother Dale and an incredible friend to both of us. Her laughter and honesty is a great legacy left by her. We will miss her greatly. Till next time Lyla - Posted by: Jan tucker (Sister in law) on: Sep 02, 2021

  • Lyla & Dale were the stay-at-home "mortar" (Winnipeg/St. James, the Lodge, Engineer Lake NW Ontario) that held the far-flung diverse Mobberley Family together. A multiply-talented Lyla was a fine wing shot/bird hunter & gamebird/country cooking chef. She was likely the first female to bag (and then cook)...a wily Tom Turkey following their successful re-introduction in Manitoba. Lyla was also an ardent angler and all-around sportswoman. Lyla partnered in many far afield adventures with Dale that typically included Lodge allies/farm friends and St. James types. Her hostessing savvy and aplomb...whatever the circumstance, made her a welcome contributor with ever so many. • I knew Lyla from working at Richardson. Lyla was very friendly with a ready smile for everyone. I am so happy I got to see her a few years ago at a group dinner with a few other Richardson employees. My sincere condolences to her family and friends. R.I.P Lyla you were one of the nicest people I had the pleasure of meeting. - Posted by: Roslyn (co-worker) on: Aug 28, 2021

  • Lyla has always been in my life...from my earliest memories of her and Dale's visits to our farm, through time spent at Winnetka and at the Portage Creek Lodge and at her home (with Dale) in Winnipeg to times spent in Phoenix and at our lake, Lyla was a vibrant, spirited, loving Friend. Lyla was a valued member of the Richardson company's HR family for years and helped me join Richardson Greenshields and then Pioneer Grain back in the 90's. Lyla continued contact with her Rishardson family long after retirement and enjoed the annual events. I always enjoyed the stories and tales of her hunting and fishing and traveling escapades and looked up to her as the indepent, strong woman she was. I am missing her dearly already but know she will be with us in spirit .. watching down over us as our lives move on. Rest well Lyla . Know that you are loved. ❤❤❤ - Posted by: Llana (Friend, Mentored) on: Aug 28, 2021

  • To Lyla's Family and Friends: Please accept my condolences on your loss. Lyla and I met in 1960 and kept up visits and correspondence from that time to now. She always would ask how my husband Bill was doing. Lyla was a very dear friend and was sincere in her interest as to how we were doing. We shared the ups and downs of life. She always spoke highly of Wayne, Everett, Alice and her mother and her dear friends. She may be gone but will not be forgotten. - Posted by: Ellen Carlisle (Friend for the last 60 years.) on: Aug 28, 2021
