BERNICE ZIELKE
(BALIANT)
September 30, 1943 - October 8, 2021

On the morning of Friday, October 8, 2021, Bernice went to be reunited with her husband Herb, who passed away on January 28, 2005.
She was predeceased by her parents, Ignace and Sophie (nee Kochan) Baliant and stepmother Mary. It's hard for a mother to envision a loss of a child, so it was a sad time when Bernice lost her son Greg (2010). She was also predeceased by her sister Jean Yablonski and nieces, Carol Shaw and Louise Kuffner.
Bernice was born in Meleb, Manitoba on September 30, 1943. She worked for Manitoba Sausage and Winnipeg Old Country for over 30 years. Her work ethic was unbeatable.
Bernice married Herb on May 11, 1963 and they resided in Winnipeg. When Herb passed away, she moved to Beausejour.
Left to mourn are her son Glen and grandchildren, Kim, Kiana and Bryton. Baba was a great cook and was known for her amazing cabbage rolls and German krumber perogy.
A funeral service is to be held on Monday, October 18, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel in Beausejour, Manitoba, with viewing one hour prior. Due to COVID restrictions, attendees are required to be double vaccinated. Those who are not double vaccinated, may participate in the Sobering Funeral Chapel parking lot and tune their radio stations to 98.1FM.
