AGNES REMIAS
Her memory will be forever cherished by her daughter Sylvia, son-in-law Bob and her favourite grandson Todd. She was predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Elizabeth Poczik, and her sisters, Julia, Mary and Kornelia.
Agnes immigrated to Canada with her family from Hungary just before she turned two. She grew up in Manitoba, graduated from the normal school and went out to teach on permit when she wasn't much older than the students. She has been teaching someone or something, every day of her life since then. Her zest for learning and sharing on every subject never left her, and she often asked if something could be looked up on "The Google." She so loved her CBC radio, and her Scrabble evenings with Darlene and the Atwells. Later, during her 10 years at West Park Manor, her favourite times were when Todd would visit and talk about his latest interests, or when Bob would share his bird sightings and when Sylvia would come for tea and knitting. She was a regular attendee to "Sit and Fit" and the undisputed champion at the trivia games.
Agnes devoted her life to taking care of family and providing for them in every way she could. She was so kind and considerate.
Many thanks to the staff and management at West Park Manor who lovingly cared for Mom. A special thanks to Darlene and Linda who continued to visit and phone Mom until the very end.
A private family celebration will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to the West Park Manor Staff Fund, or the St. Mathews Maryland Community Ministry.

It was an privilege to know Agnes. She was so proud of you Sylvia, Bob and Todd, and delighted in your experiences and honours. I enjoyed visiting with her and we would have fun chuckling over stories from her years in the classroom. I send my condolences to you as we remember and give God thanks for her life, so well lived. - Posted by: Helen Whetter (Friend) on: Nov 14, 2021

I truly enjoyed knowing Agnes for these past 40 years. I fondly remember all our family get-togethers and celebrations. Agnes was a kind soul and a joy to talk to. She always had a vast knowledge of, and interest in, an incredible variety of subjects. May all your wonderful memories of her comfort you in this time of sorrow. My loving thoughts to Syl, Bob and Todd. - Posted by: Donna Bobowski (Sister-in law) on: Oct 31, 2021
